Recent fact checks
A Cabinet minister claimed there have been “record levels” of immigration returns and deportations under Labour.

This isn’t correct, based on official data. Neither the total number of returns nor the number of enforced returns in Labour’s first year is a record for a 12-month period.
Viral videos claim that from 1 October any bank transfer between individuals over £800 will be “automatically” blocked for 24 hours.

This is false. Banks can already freeze transactions for further verification, but HMRC has confirmed these particular claims aren’t true.
Leader of the opposition Kemi Badenoch and other Conservative politicians have claimed that under Labour unemployment has “gone up every single month”.

This is incorrect. The number of people who are unemployed and the unemployment rate have both risen since Labour came into government, but not in every single month.
